Matt has worked in the private security and investigations industry since 2009. During that time, he gained experience working foot and mobile patrols in some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Virginia. In 2011, he became a member of High Impact Patrol, a specialized team designed to suppress the gang, drug, and violence problems found on many of these properties. In less than a year, he was made the senior officer of this team, in charge of planning and executing high risk arrests with a small group of highly trained officers, or working operations alone. This experience gave Matt the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in: Firearms Tactics, Close Quarters Battle, Mission Planning, Deescalation and Crisis Management, Witness Protection, and Apprehension/Detaining Techniques.

Matt is still very active in the private sector today. Matt has worked many pro bono missing persons and homicide investigations as well as providing pro bono protection services for victims of domestic violence. Matt has also provided protection for several high-profile whistleblowers involved in Congress-level investigations.

He also has work experience as an executive protection agent, bail enforcement agent, and private investigator. He has been a professional consultant and instructor of relevant trade disciplines for over 6 years, to include: Covert surveillance, Intelligence Gathering, Mission Planning, and Close Protection.

Matt has experience constructing and executing training programs for Special Operations units within the US Military.
